We had a very scary situation this morning. I woke up for work to find the back of our house on fire. While I was on the phone to 000 I grabbed the birds and took off out the front door. Once the fire department got here I called my neighbour and asked her to put the birds in a room away from the smoke. They managed to get it under control and the fire was contained to the outside back wall and the laundry but had it been a few minutes more they said it would have spread, it was already licking at the walls in the hallway outside the laundry. Hug your loved ones, you never know what is around the corner 
We only had full power and plumbing restored yesterday.
